Abani Kumar Rath (India)

Born in 1972, post-graduated in Chemistry in 1993 and acquired a degree in Law in 1997. First cartoon was published in 1989 and thousands of cartoons have been published in various newspapers, periodicals & magazines since then. Represent the only cartoonist brother duo of the world and famous as ‘Aswini-Abani’ with brother Aswini.

1.     Honourable Mention prize in the 15th & 16th ‘Daejeon International Cartoon Contest’, 2006, 2007  Seoul, Korea
2.     Special mention prize in the ‘2nd FreeCartoonsWeb International Cartoonet Festival’, China in 2003.
3.      First Prize in the ‘Open Cartoon Contest’ organized by ‘Bhilai Steel Plant’  (M.P.) for two consecutive years 1993 and 1994.
4.     First prize in the ‘Open Cartoon Contest’ organized by ‘The New Indian Express’ in  2001.
5.     Consolation prize in ‘The Hindustan Times Cartoon Contest 1994’ organized by ‘The Hindustan Times’.
6.     Second prize in ‘Science Cartoon Contest’ organized by ‘Science Reporter’, New Delhi.
7.     Consolation Prize in the Cartoon Competition organized by ‘National Cancer Foundation’ New Delhi.
